A Master Class is your opportunity to work individually, in person, with one of America's most successful, most experienced book editors.

Any writer who wants to work one-on-one, with superior guidance, on a fiction or nonfiction project may apply for Master Class participation. This tutorial is open to authors of any genre, in any stage of the writing process, from concept development to line-editing.

Any editor wanting to sharpen line-editing skills or solve specific issues in a project with Laurie's assistance may apply for a Master Class.

Laurie schedules enrollees on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants may request a specific day or two to four consecutive days.

She organizes the daily sessions around each student's preferences, between eight-thirty in the morning and nine at night. Each day includes between four and five hours of one-on-one work with Laurie, usually divided between two sessions. The intensive also includes a minimum of two hours of solitary writing time, for the student to apply newfound skills and concepts to the project for Laurie to evaluate.

The classes are in Sarasota, Florida, a popular vacation destination.

The fee for the Master Class is $850 per day, with one-half payable in advance to reserve the time. Included are the tutorial and one meal per day. Depending upon scheduling, accommodations may be available for an additional $150 per night. Otherwise the student is responsible for accommodations, airfare, meals, etc.
